Who I am

I am an Academic Associate, leading an independent research group with two dedicated PhD students at the Cognitive Psychology chair at the Psychological Institute of the University of Zurich.

My current research focus aims at understanding the synergy of working memory and long-term memory and how information is transferred from one system to the other.

Specifically, my interest is driven by the following three questions:

(1) Why is the capacity of working memory limited?

(2) What factors determine which information is stored more permanently in long-term memory? and

(3) How do working memory and long-term memory interact to navigate the requirements of the outside world?
